Installation Guide

Follow these 3 simple steps to complete 1-click silent printing setup on your PC.

Add the Chrome Extension

Install PrintBridge from the Chrome Web Store, then open it once from your browser toolbar and turn Silent Printing to ON.

Open Chrome Web StoreWorks on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave.

Copy Your Extension ID

The Windows installer requires this unique extension ID to securely pair with your browser.

Need to use a custom or unpacked extension ID?

If loaded unpacked, copy the 32-letter ID from chrome://extensions.

Run Windows Setup Installer

Launch PrintBridge-Setup.exe on Windows and paste your Extension ID when prompted.

• Requires Windows Administrator permissions.
• Bundles all native printing components (no extra dependencies needed).
• After installation completes, reopen your browser and click Re-check Connection above.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

The check says the extension is missing, but it is installed

The Extension ID on this page may not match your browser instance. Open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer Mode, and verify the 32-letter ID under PrintBridge in Step 2.

The check says the Windows program is missing

Either the installer was not run on this computer, or it was configured with a different Extension ID. Re-run PrintBridge-Setup.exe, paste your exact Extension ID, and restart your browser.

Printing starts but nothing comes out on paper

Virtual printers (like Microsoft Print to PDF, OneNote, XPS Writer) are filtered out because they require a filename dialog. Ensure a physical thermal label printer (e.g. TSC, Zebra, Xprinter) is connected and powered on.

The installer will not run

The installer requires administrator permissions. Right-click PrintBridge-Setup.exe and choose Run as administrator.

If silent printing fails, inspect host logs to verify native messaging activity:
